Tributes

Richard you are so missed. It’s a comfort to me that I feel so blessed and so privileged to have had you in my life. It is an honour to have known you and shared in your funny stories and your unending kindness and caring for everyone around you. You are a rare soul. Love you always, Theresa

Theresa

Richard, we only knew you for three years, but your wonderful kind and caring nature tinged with humour was a delight. Bud enjoyed your company so very much and although, due to his own poor health, was unlikely to go fishing with you, he talks often of the plans you made together. We will both miss you heaps and hope the fishing is great wherever you are. Dear Anne (AJ), Robbie and family Our thoughts and love have been with you all the way, and will continue to be as you learn to live without your wonderful man.

Ann and Bud Kilberg

I met Richard in my first year at Westlake and we became good friends. I was lucky enough to spend time with him and his family at Castor Bay sailing our P Class yachts and later when Digby and Pat moved to Mahurangi. He always loved to have fun and I still feel the bruises from riding on the back of the trike on the farm. Our lives moved in different directions but the memories are still strong. Looking at some of those fish he caught reminds me he never would say where Digby’s pozi was. Just that it was a family secret. Rest in peace my friend.
