SUTHERLAND, Ross Finlaison - 4-2-1940 -7-10-2023. On Saturday the 7th of October bang on 4 o’clock, Dad took his last breaths with Mandy and Jay by his side at home in his warm bed. Dad put up a god fight for a long time. A good man, son, father, brother, grandad and friend. Loved and cherished father to Mark (dec), Mandy, and Jay. Cherished and loved husband to Moirea (dec). Cherished and loved grandad to Cheyenne, Stefan-Ross, Emma, Finlaison, Te Aroha,and Maia. Cherished and loved father-in-law to Chris, and Karlene. Loved and cherished brother to: Buster (dec), Pat (dec), Bob (dec), Jim(dec), Anne, Greg (dec), Roddy, Scott, Penny, Jill, Jeffrey (dec), Nola, Christine, Ewen, and Cathy. Dad was a great friend to many people for many years. Thank you all for your love and support over the years. Thank you to Linda, Catie-Lou, and Lou for your love and care of Dad. Thank you to Access, Focus, and Kahukura for your care of Dad. Dad was loved by so many people in his life, he loved his home, the Wairarapa, Mataikona, The Tararuas, and Masterton, his birthplace. “A mighty totara has fallen” Sans Peur (Without Fear). A Service to celebrate Ross’ life will be held at Rosewood, 415 Queen Street Masterton on Thursday 12th October at 1:00pm, followed by private cremation. Such wholesome memories flow back into my heart. We loved to go around to the Sutherland house as Kids. Ross you will be missed by many.
