Also known as "Ray"
28 June 1946 – 19 August 2025
It is with heavy hearts we share that Ray passed away peacefully at Kaikôura Hospital on August 19, 2025, after a hard fought battle right until the end. He showed the grit and strength of a true trooper. Ray was the cherished husband and best friend of Joy, together building a lifetime of love and memories. He was a treasured father and father-in-law, a devoted grandad to seven and a much-loved great grandfather “Poppy” to eight with another precious great grandchild on the way. His love for his family was unshakable and he leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.
“You will be sorely missed, but remembered always as simply the best.”
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and staff at Kaikôura Hospital for their incredible care, with special gratitude to Doctor Trudie for her dedication and compassion throughout this journey.
All who knew and loved him are warmly invited to join us in honouring his life.
