Passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 23rd of August 2025, aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Pat. Loving father of Stephen Ryan, Kathryn and Mark Cliff, Joanne and Barry Codlin, and Brendon Ryan and Celia Burton. Adored grandfather of his 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A service for Sydney will be held at Saint Pauls Cooperating Church, Opunake, on Wednesday the 27th of August 2025, commencing at 11am. A livestream of the service will be available to watch on Sydney's tribute page.

Caring for Syd and getting to know him was a real pleasure. He was one of the kindest most gentle warm hearted gentlemen I have ever known. So greatfull have had the chance to make him smile and share memories and laughs with all his friends at the village. He sang like an angel 😇 rest in love Syd ❤️ Aroha
