I met Margaret on the sidelines of the football field when my son Scott was playing alongside her son Colin when they were about 12 years old some 35 years ago. There were many happy hours spent together cheering their team on along with the other parents. This friendship has carried on over the years mainly over the phone and emails as distance was too great to catch up in person. She was always bright and cheerful despite her own personal challenges. We both proudly communicated all our respective family news and successes. I was so pleased to be able to have travelled from Rotorua today to celebrate Margaret’s life. My condolences to Bruce and family.
