TAYLOR, Gary Wayne   It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Taylor at Mary Potter Hospice Wellington on 18 August 2025.

Gary is cherished partner of Carline, great friend to Matthew, Troy, Harriet and little Augustine, and Tim. Loving brother of Judi and Nicky, brother-in-law of Ron and Leigh, and amazing uncle of Seth, Neve, and Sami.  Also beloved son of the late Gerald and Shirley Taylor of Timaru.  Legendary rock god to so many fellow musicians and friends in the Wellington and wider NZ music scene, loyal friend to many more.

Gary left this world peacefully but before his time, surrounded in great love by his partner and family. 

Heartfelt thanks to all the amazing medical staff and volunteers at Mary Potter Hospice, Wellington Hospital Ward 5 North and Bowen Icon Cancer Centre for Gary’s care.

A private cremation service has been held at Gary’s request. 

A celebration of Gary’s life will be advised by the family at a later date.
