Born 1 August 1926. Passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital on Thursday 16 November 2023, aged 97. Much loved wife of the late Bill. Dearly loved Mother and mother-in-law of Bill and Robyn, Nola and Tony. Adored and greatly loved Nana of Andrew, Helen, Katija and Antony. Great Nana of William, Cameron, Oliver, Freddie and Charlotte. A Mass and celebration of her life will be held at the Church of St Francis. by the Sea, 7 Motutapu Avenue, Manly -Whangaparaoa, at 11am on Thursday 23 November 2023. Condolences to the family on the loss of a wonderful woman. I had a great respect for Matija when she was the Headmistress at Orewa District High School. I learnt such a lot from her, she was an amazing teacher. May she RIP in the arms of her Beloved Saviour.
