Tributes

My condolences to Margaret and her family. I recall having some great chats with Ralph on his rugby days when he played with the great Tiny White. A good man,,

My sympathy to Ralph's family. I journeyed with Ralph over the last stage of his life and will have lasting memories of his humour and his faith. Rest in peace Ralph.

Deepest sympathy Margaret. You both gave us junior bowlers so much encouragement & help in the early 90’s at BrownsBay club. North Harbour lost two great administrators when you moved. I even have some shelves Ralph made for my wardrobes & linen cupboards. He remarked at the time “ the more shelves a woman has the more stuff she finds to put on them Yes Ralph how true you were. Rest peacefully.

So sorry to learn of Ralph's passing. He was an excellent umpire, always ready to help and give so much time to our sport. I still use the long string measure he made for many of us, a number of years ago. Whenever I see a player sitting in the ditch I expect to see Ralph appear to tell them to move up onto the bank. Good memories last forever. Jean Ashby, an umpiring mate.

Our deepest sympathy to Margaret, Linda and Steve and family. Joe really enjoyed his fortnightly visits to see Margaret and Ralph on his way home from visiting his sister in Rotorua. They all shared the deep passion for bowls and loved to share so many stories from happenings over the years. They each have such a wealth of knowledge of the game and have enjoyed giving back to the sport. Ralph was one of life's real gentlemen and he will be sadly missed. RIP Ralph

Ralph - a real legend at Browns Bay Bowling Club. His enthusiasm to engage junior bowlers and school students into the game was just amazing; didn't matter their skill level - Ralph would encourage everyone. Ralph always had a smile for everyone; a word of encouragement; a passion for our game; a gentleman on and off the green. We thank you for your great contribution to the game of bowls. R.I.P
