You rest in the arms of angels In a place of peace and love Watching over me always From heaven up above. You guide me through my worries And help me through each day Always by my side You never went away The bond cannot be broken Made from love so pure Death does not break the bond It lives on for ever more You rest in the arms of angels Free from illness and pain Waiting for the day We are together once again. Love to you all Catrina
Ome Hans (Uncle Hans) was my favourite uncle. When I visited New Zealand about 20 years ago, he made me feel at home. I remember his humor, relaxed attitude, warmth and his ability to connect despite the disctance in miles and time. I remember that we were together at the beach looking for shells.. Just for fun. Also eating big icecreams, talking in Dutch dialect with a New Zealand twist, a lot of laughter and our hands were sandy and sticky... Also when i got home from this trip, It felt and still feels like a virtual warm embrace. I wish especially the family and friends in New Zealand and also my family here every strength to deal with this loss. That will be tough. I imagine that in heaven there will be a great applaus and also many cheers when he arrives... He will stay connected... that's a part of Ome Hans...
It was an honor to know Hans through Heidi and Trina. He was always smiling, loving, happy and welcoming. A man that lifted your spirits from the moment he entered the room. In life you find beautiful souls that touch your heart and Hans was one of those people for me. My heart aches to know he no longer walks amongst us but knowing he will now rest easy with Maureen is a blessing. Thinking of everyone today saying goodbye to a truly amazing man. Kei kona te aroha me te whakaaro, kia kaha, Aroha nui With loving thoughts and sympathy Be strong Much love Breanna xx
Such a lovely man and he will be missed that he met in his life, sending our condolences to all the family ♥️
To us, Uncle Hans was a man from an overseas territory whom you only saw very occasionally when he came to the Netherlands to visit the family. What always stayed with me from a young age, were his kindness and genuine attention to everyone. This year, when I saw Uncle Hans after all these years, I immediately had that familiar and warm feeling from my childhood again. We are so glad we were able to meet him one more time. We wish Heidi and the family in New Zealand every strength with this great loss.
Hans was a big part of our lives. We had many happy holidays with Hans, and Maureen..He was a very kind and generous man and for that we will always remember him. Our loving thoughts are with the family.
I see that my sister Marie-Louise already took the words out of my mouth. I would like to add that if it were possible to give super extra long life (in good health) to someone I would give it to Uncle Hans. Good people always die too young. Frank Verdonk Nephew of Uncle Hans.
Dearest Uncle Hans, I will remember you for your catchy optimism and warm kindness, for your genuine interest in everyone, your magic ability to make each of us feel important and your epic courage to undertake one last trip to the Netherlands only about 7 months ago. You really made the world a better place and you will be sorely missed by all. Marie-Louise Verdonk
It was such an honour to have known Hans through his amazing family. RIP Hans, thank you. 🦋
