HITCHCOCK, Valerie Dawn (nee Gichard):
Peacefully at Woodrow Grove on Tuesday, 21 November 2023 aged 94. Dearly loved wife of the late Colin. Cherished Mum of Susan, Peter & Rose, Mark & Pauline, Scott (dec) and Lee & Faith. Loved grandmother of Cathy (dec), Helen, Debbie, Shaun, Joshua, Jana, Steven, Mana, Chantel, Amy and all their families. Loved sister of Ivy McKay. Remembered lovingly by all her nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service to celebrate Valerie’s life will be held at Eagars Te Henui Chapel, 174 Lemon Street, New Plymouth on Friday 24 November 2023 at 2pm.

A lovely and wonderful Aunty of mine, that always had a smile and a warm welcome for me, and that I loved to catch up with. Will be missed, but never forgotten. My condolences to my couzies and your families. May Aunty Val rest in peace.

A beautiful lady who will be greatly missed, My late husband Clive and I both worked with Val at the Salvation Army. We actually stayed at her place on our wedding night in 1985.. Rest in love Val
