Sorry that we cauld not be with you all today. As a child we would visit Nana and Uncle Lynsey in the house Lynsey built on Racecourse Road. He cared for her until just before her death. A trip to Ashburton was never complete without a trip around to South Street to see Uncle Alistair and Uncle Lynsey, usually busy in Alistair's meticulously tidy Modern Metalwork Workshop they barely had time to stop. Such was the success of the business they built. On later trips we visited him at Tancred Street. He always had classical music playing, a stack of books by the sofa and enjoyed talking about sport with Michael. His garden was always picture perfect-high dahlias lining the fence. He enjoyed watching Emerson age 4 play at the park and catching up on family news. We enjoyed our lunches out when we returned from London -when Aunty Catherine usually joined. We will miss your calm presence, self-contained character and constancy Uncle Lynsey. Rest in peace. X
Rest in peace, Uncle Lynsey. I remember vividly my brother and I climbing on the roof of yours and Nana’s house and you coming outside, concerned for our safety, telling us with few words to come down. You were a quietly caring person, and extremely good at making things with perfection and detail. Rest in peace Uncle Lynsey.
