Dearest Ruth, We're so very sorry to hear, just this weekend of Cliff's sudden passing. Such a terrible shock, that at first John thought Elaine was talking about someone he didn't know. We're saddened that we couldn't be with you and the boys and share this time with you. John has fond memories of time spent with you both in Masterton, the door always open with a welcome. I got to know Cliff later of course, firstly dropping in to see him at work in Worksop Road. Just the same, I too very quickly looked forward to seeing you both after our long drives down to Masterton. Our hearts go out to you all and we hope it won't be too long before we're able again to make the trip south and see you. Very much love, John and Maggie
Dear Ruth, We are so sorry to hear your sad news . Cliff was a gentle soul all round great guy. He will truly be missed by many. Our love goes out to you and your family. Love from Bill ,Lorraine , Mike, Nick, Kristina
So sorry Ruth. What a lovely man. Saw and talked to him often at The Newbolds Workshop. Was privileged to be there when you were married. 44 years -wow. I know you have a wonderful family and imagine you are all supporting each other. Love to you all Ruth - Leigh
Dear Ruth I can’t find the words to express how sorry I am for your very sad, sudden loss. Cliff’s legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on and may you find strength in his memory. Please know that I am here for you during this difficult time and after. Praying for ‘Peace and Comfort’ always. Nicola, Peter and I are sending you lots of love and supporting hugs Your friend of over 40 years Ruthie, Nic and Pete xxxx
Shocked and very sad to hear the news of your passing. I only met you last year but the stories and laughter you shared about all the fishing trips will stay with me forever. My thoughts are with your lovely wife Ruth (who you spoke so fondly of) and your amazing sons. Hope there is alot of fish biting in your next life Cliffy, keep those lines tight.
Our thoughts are with you Ruth and boys.. memories of such a wonderful family man.. always showed what a great husband and dad he was.. thinking of you all with love..”you cannot always see the bird but you will always hear his song”
We only became friends with you Cliff, earlier this year when a mutual friend brought you along to go fishing. A bond of friendship was quickly formed and then we got to meet Ruth. Both of you were so friendly and welcoming, I just wish there had been more time to visit and enjoy the many fish you would have hooked up here (in the Bay of Islands) Cliff. It was special having visited you at your home a couple of weeks ago, to have seen you so full of energy and plans of what you had in front of you - it is still challenging to believe you are no longer here with us, our memory of you will last forever.
