Passed away peacefully in Auckland on 2 December 2023, aged 97. Dearly loved Husband of the late Enid. Treasured Father and Father-In-Law to Rob and Ali, Andy and Maxine. Loving Poppa to Ben and Pushpa, Kate and Daniel, Brennan and Raelene, Michael and Hope. Great Poppa to Ava, Kendall, Mia, Ruben, Maria.
'You have run your last reel. Rest easy Dad'.
A service to celebrate Doug's life will be held at The North Harbour Chapel, Dils Funeral Services, 185 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany on 11 December at 2.30pm, followed by private cremation. Many thanks to the staff and management at CHT Onewa for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mercy Hospice would be appreciated. You were known in the cinema industry as one of the best in New Zealand, a true showman, and a gentleman dedicated to cinemas and the tens of thousands of moviegoers. I, along with many former staff in the cinemas, will always treasure the memories of the times with you. RIP Doug
