SHANKS, George: Passed away peacefully on Wednesday 6 December, 2023. Aged 88 years. Loved Dad of Heather and Tim, Laura and Paul, Charlotte and Thomas. Beloved Grandad of Cathryn; Rachel; Orin and Rhoan. A service to celebrate George’s life will be held at Hope Garden Of Remembrance and Crematorium, 95 Clover Road East, Hope at 11am on Saturday 9 December. Fond memories of Uncle George. I remember he took me to the pictures in Kirkcaldy to see A Hard Days Night when it was first released - and I was desperate to see it. I remember his love of motorbikes and competing in the motorbike 'scrambling' races and, of course, his excellent accordion playing. I remember his last visit to Scotland when he spent a lot of his time with my Mum, Betty, his older sister. So many memories. He will be greatly missed by Betty, his loving sister, and her family. xx
Fond memories of my Uncle George, the holidays in Carluke, sitting through Snow White and Old Yeller twice because Heather fell asleep the 1st time. I know your up there celebrating with all the family ❤️❤️
