Charles Lloyd Bernard (Bernie) Johnston
Passed away peacefully at North Shore Hospital on 7 December 2023, held close by family.
Beloved husband of 68 years to the late Thelma.
Loving father and father-in-law to Peter and Lonnie, Dean and Tracy and Russell.
Admired and cherished Poppa to Brad and Courtney.
Much loved Poppa to Elysia, Toni and Bernard, and greatgrandfather to Chloe and Zara.
Fondly remembered friend to his Algies Bay "family" and a
special thanks to Lisa, and Ward 11 for their care and
respect for Bernie.
A service celebrating Bernie's life will be held at Jason Morrison Funerals, 24 Whitaker Road Warkworth, on Saturday, 16th December 2023 at 11:00am.

Bernie was a very special part of the Athol Pl community and a much respected and loved neighbour and friend. I enjoyed our conversations and cuppas and sharing his memories. Dave and I always enjoyed Bernie and Thelma’s company. He had a wicked sense of humour and made me laugh. Bernie’s memory was amazing and his intelligence was obvious. Bernie will be missed in Athol Pl.
What a wonderful long life you’ve had Bernie . Now it’s time for a rest . May you rest in peace. Kindest regards sue and Alan Kindred
