Ngarino George nee Thomas, born on 15-November-1935 and passed away on 15-November-2023 aged 88 years.

On Wednesday the 15th of November 2023 we celebrated our Mum’s 88th birthday. She was surrounded by her children, mokopuna and great-grand mokos sharing cake, laughter and waiata. She spent the day with us, and then passed away peacefully that evening to be with our Dad beyond the veil.

Mum lay at Mokau Marae in Oakura. Her nehu and service was held on the 18th of November 2023. She now rests at Te Kapua Urupa, Oakura, with our Dad and all those loved ones that have passed before her.

To our beautiful Mum, Nana, Sister, Aunty, Teacher, Nurturer, Confidant and Peace Maker, rest in peace, we will continue to think of you every day and hold on to the memories we created and shared. Thank you for your smiles and laughter, your cuddles and affection, your time and unconditional love for us all. We are a product of your influence and being, we will never forget you, Mum.

‘E te Mareikura, moe mai ra, Ka aroha nui ki a koe mō ake tonu’. ‘Our Matriarch, rest now, we love you forever’.

To all of our whānau and friends, here in Aotearoa and overseas, we see you, we appreciate and thank you for being here with us, your love and support has not gone unnoticed.
