Tributes

In loving memory Mum, a woman whose life journey began in the embrace of the rural beauty of Wellsford in 1937. Mum's childhood unfolded on a picturesque farm, a canvas of rolling fields. Her fondest memories were etched in the soil of that farm, where she found her greatest joy beside her father, caring for the animals that became cherished companions in the tapestry of her youth. In the chapters of her life, Mum's narrative took a turn when she married Merv Blair, and together they wrote the story of a family filled with interesting quirks. Mum, a dedicated worker, graced the aisles of Wallace Supplies. and the rooms of the Rodney Times factory in Warkworth. A multifaceted soul, Mum reveled in the spirited activities of her younger days – a keen bowler and tennis player. Those sun-soaked summers, spent in an old army truck transformed into a camper by Dad, created memories etched in golden sands and foamy waves. Mum's eyes sparkled as she recounted those adventures, the truck-turned-camper a symbol of family togetherness and the joy of simple living. As life progressed, the family embarked on new aquatic adventures with Dad's launch, yet Mum could not swim, so this adventure revealed a depth of character. Nevertheless, she embraced the love of travel, dancing, and socializing. Mum's pot of vegetable soup simmered on the stove each winter, a comforting beacon of hospitality for anyone who might drop by. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her home was a haven of warmth and nourishment for the body and soul. In later years, Mum found contentment at Somerset Village, where she continued to embrace life with her love for bowling and travel. As Mum entered the sunset of her years, her resilience shone through. With a spirit untamed by time, she made the brave decision to bid farewell on her terms, peacefully slipping into a slumber to reunite with loved ones waiting on the other side. Rest in peace, dear Mum. Your legacy is woven into the fabric of our lives.
