We met when we were 17, in nursing class AK hospital 1970. We hit it off straight away and were at each other's weddings, went our separate ways but always kept in touch and got back together. We had so much catching up to do every time we got together. Her nursing skill was amazing. We both worked at Middlemore hosp and used to have tea together when shifts allowed. I will so miss our chats, but the funeral was a really good send off. Hugs to all her family

I have known Susan for 23 years, initially as a colleague and then as a friend. Susan was very proud of her profession of nursing and made a positive difference to 1000’s of people’s lives both patients and nurses. She was passionate about providing holistic care and freely shared her knowledge and skills with the next generation of nurses. The colleagues who worked with her called Susan and I Statler and Wardolf. We would frequently debate the merits of various treatments not always agreeing but respecting each others view and remaining firm friends. One of S&W,s quotes is “ as you get older you will understand that it is not about what you look like or what you own……it’s all about the person you have become” I will miss the person you became. Rest easy your work is now done.
