Like many others I had the privilege of working with Bob . Although many, many years ago now ,it was when he was the Company Secretary for R.C.MacDonald ,back in the mid sixties . We both went our different paths and for years did not make contact until I returned from a spell overseas and managed to track him down living in the North ! We immediately reconnected our friendship and regularly communicated via phone or email, which was a great privilege and pleasure for me! For an accountant Bob was totally different to what people’s concept is generally. He was very laid back and had a great sense of humour ! He was very capable of anything that was thrown at him and believe me, this was very varied in our export trade ,those many years ago. ! I will miss our contact,despite the long distance we had between us ! Rest in peace bob ,if anyone deserves to,it is you ! Roger Wood

I have been lucky enough to have had the privilege on knowing and working with Bob from around 1995, in Singapore, Perth, Western Australia until his full retirement from the Bell Equipment Group. Bob continued to complete our month end accounting pack after he returned to New Zealand to retire, we spoke on the phone every month end to discuss the accounting queries sent by the Bell factory accountants. Bob would always say "they change the accounting requirements often to keep themselves in a job" I referred to Bob as "THE WISE OLD OWL" Bob was my listening post for any Accounting or general administration queries, I found his advice to be of great assistance. Bob had a great sense of humour, I would ask Bob, "are you sure you are from the Accounting profession? you are possibly the only accountant with a sense of humour". The other phone discussion was always about what sport was happening in New Zealand and Australia, but Cricket would be our favourite discussion before we would sign off from the call. The Bell Equipment Group has lost a Wonderful Man, Great Friend and Colleague. Farewell and Rest In Peace Robert (Bob) Muff.
