Turei passed away on Sunday, 7th January 2024 at Waikato Hospital with his family by his side; aged 72 years.
Turei will rest at the Te Kaha marae from Monday, 8th January 2024. A service will be held at the Te Kaha marae on Tuesday, 9th January 2024 at 11:00am with burial at Te Kaka urupa.
