Gladys Mary Skipper (nee Cairns)

Daughter of the late Charlie and Tina Cairns (nee Hunt).  Devoted wife of Mark Skipper. Beloved mother of Cushla, Vanessa, Mark (Jnr) and Aniwaniwa.  Beautiful Nan to Anahera, McArdy and Te Kaha.  Loved by all her siblings, nieces, nephews, in-laws and outlaws, friends and extended whanau. 

Sadly passing after a short illness on Sunday, 14th January 2023 in Whakatane Hospital, Gladys will be departing from Gateway Funeral Home to lie at Te Maungarongo Marae, Ohope from Monday, 15th January 2024.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Te Maungarongo Marae on Wednesday, 17th January 2024 at 11am, before her nehu at Taneatua Cemetary where she will rest with her parents and those left before her on the hill in the sunshine under the trees where the breeze sweeps away the sadness and brings the birds to sing.
