On 12 February 2024, peacefully at Bruce McLaren Village, after a courageous battle with dementia, aged 80 years. Dearly loved and loving husband and best friend of Rosemary for more than 50 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Michelle and John Cranston (Australia), Fiona and Kane Anson (Darfield), Bridgette and Paul Southen. Special Grandad to Liam, Ben and Samara, Lukas and Sasha, Maddison, Aston and Autumn. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Pauline and the late Alistair Ward. Respected friend of Hamish Osborne, father of Bridgette's children. David will be farewelled at All Saints Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Thursday 15 February at 2.00pm. The family would like to thank the Staff of the Special Care Unit at Bruce McLaren for their dedicated care of David over the last 16 months.
