On 25 August 2025, peacefully at Aranui Home and Hospital, aged 91 years. Dearly loved husband of Margaret, beloved father of Tommy Charles, and the late Richard; much loved father and father-in-law of Mark and Linda, and adored grandfather of Samantha and Jordan. Loved brother-in-law of Helen and Chris, and Wendy and Lindsay, and much-loved uncle and great-uncle to Philip, Alesia and children Harrison and Emily; to Miriam, Rob and little Homer; and to Sōren and Nicholas.

A service to celebrate Tom's life will be held at St Lukes Church, 130 Remuera Road, Remuera on Wednesday 3 September at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA would be appreciated. Heartfelt thanks also to the staff at Aranui, who have been exceptional in providing loving care for Tom for over a year.
