Tributes

Dear Sharon - how lucky I was to grow up seeing the brilliant women of the THC Te Anau - of which you were one. Always so kind to me (I'm sure I was an annoying child) and filled with joy. An inspiration to many - me included. X

I only knew Sharon when we moved to Wanganui when I was 14. We had 2 years together before we moved on in life. I was so pleased to have reunited with her on Facebook and followed her amazing and at time sad stories she posted. I felt that she was talking to me. Our days at school were fun. I remember when at her place before school we dipped worms in paint and placed them on a large piece of cardboard to see what pattern they would make. We went off to school and went back at lunch time. 1 worm managed about 6 inches but the others just died on the spot. We then wagged the rest of the day - only time I ever did it.

Sharon, my life was changed that day at the Chateau when you introduced yourself to a young and impressionable new manager, freshly returned from overseas and newly divorced, who needed a friend, a mentor, a neighbor, and a personal support system. You forever changed my life and I credit you with introducing many things to my life, another ex, a bunch of rats that needed feeding when you were away, a number of dodgy blokes and not least, eye cream which to this day keeps me looking less wrinkly! Our paths haven't crossed for a while now, but you were not only a friend for an extended season, but also a friend for life. Much love my friend, travel on and rest well, you deserve it.
