Tributes

I'm so very sorry to hear about Caryll's passing, too late to attend her funeral unfortunately but I was able to watch most of the service via the internet. Maurice Lobb (my father) remembers meeting Caryll as a baby he was asked to hold her during a meeting and she christened his new trousers!! Caryll remembered being taken to Sunday School in my grandfather's Model T with the Lobb & Gardner children. The Clausen family were part of the Mt Biggs farming community. Eric used to pick my mother Joyce up and take her to bowIs in his mini, he loved that car and I still don't know how he fitted!! I remember coming home from work one day when Caryll pulled up in her car asking if we lived here because she had just bought the house two doors down here in Taupo. What fun times we had with cuppas and marveling at the Mt Ruapehu eruption, taking Eric to see a few attractions. Meeting Caryll's friend Melvie who with her husband Alan then came to house sit when we were away, which gave them independence but they were still able to visit each other. Poor Caryll had the unenviable task of telling me that my mother had passed away while we were on holiday, coming over and climbing up our stairs - I did so appreciate her doing so. I missed them both so much when they decided to return to the Manawatu after five years. Caryll was such a font of information and we had some lively discussions about Feilding history and family information. And darn it I still had a few questions to ask. We will miss popping in for a chat and catching up on the Clausen/Feilding/Mt Biggs happenings.
