Tributes

thank you Jill thank you for your wonderful smile and glint of fun in your eyes the music that flowed over our fence and lifted our spirits the honest assessments that began "well Andrew" the care and interest you showed in our children the morning chat over the fence to start the day the knowledge that our neighbour was only call over the fence away the musical soirees for the neighbour performed by Jill and her proteges for being so kind to our escaped chooks and dog, Leo, as you rounded them up for creating and maintaining a beautiful garden for letting Mike show us how to use a chainsaw without endangering life and limb for your gift of music which you shared so readily for your quiet humility and tranquility We shall miss you

Loved the kind soul you were, Jill, your efforts to teach Connie, to play the piano( we both failed as she loved interacting with you but thought practice was overrated).. I loved your recitals and the kind people you surrounded yourself with which was testament to your giving personality that attracted the same kind.. I will always remember our outing at the Deep Creek Tavern, reminiscing in front of the fire , chirpily answering a call from Susie with: I am at the pub, having a jolly good time.. You may have left us, but your spirit will remain with us forever..miss you dearly, Jill, have a good laugh at us suckers down here Much love, Birgit

Remembering an extraordinary music teacher who over more than 10 years, taught our four sons so much more than how to play the piano. The values and life skills they learnt from you Jill, were hugely influential in shaping the fine men they have grown up to be. We took a drive down Butcher Road today and shared lots of memories of you, Mike and in Simeon's case - your dog, who he loved playing with while waiting for his turn at the piano! Rest peacefully, knowing that the world is a better place because of your time here. Arohanui Denise & Barry Ward
