Tributes

Thankyou Helen (and remembering James) for the role that you played in our lives. We were chosen for the Bridge in New Zealand scheme in 1977. We are now in our 70’s and, even now, reflect on the impact of our life-changing experiences in Israel and later in Europe. We think, too, about how Bridge influenced our lives after our return to Aotearoa. Helen, through Bridge, influenced our attitudes to social justice, food, parenting and more. Farewell Helen, you touched our lives and are remembered with love.

Farewell to a fine caring woman who cared deeply about encouraging young people to grow and become their best selves. Helen was instrumental in ensuring so many of us experienced life in Israel at a time of peace. This experience expanded my horizons, allowed me to experience a different culture, gain insights into the lives of others and was also a truly humbling experience. Thank you for continuing to share your life with us as we grew older. Always warmly remembered.
