Angelina, this is unbearable news a year later after Mike’s passing. I have been looking to reach out and have been unable to send emails and have lost touch with you on Facebook. So I’ve been searching for email addresses for the two of you when this came up. My heart hurts and aches for you and your family. Sending my love and hope we speak one day. Mike how lucky we were to know you and to spend time with you. You’ll always have a special place in our hearts.
Mike its with a heavy heart I heard of your passing. When I think of you I think of laughter, happiness and love. The love you had for Angelina and your family couldnt be missed. My love and thoughts are with you all x
So sorry to learn of Mike's body letting him down. We were intending to come to his funeral then realized we were a week late, bugga. Thinking of you all and especially the great memories we have of Mike. We will catch up sometime lots of love Terry n Jenny
An incredibly humorous man so kind caring and fun. I know our lives never crossed paths frequently but I clearly remember the first time I met you and the hope that we would be family . Over the years we came to know you attending your first wedding as one of the bridesmaids and then your marriage to Ange the best thing that happened to you I'm sure of that .I remember the farm holidays and our trips to HB over the years .You where always the same. You enjoyed making fun and ensuring happiness was spread. Mort enjoyed you to.In later years always sussing out what houses you where selling and dropping in at the open homes. We loved you .You haven't gone and your children and grandchildren will be proof of that.Fly free have fun prepare the way for the rest of us .Watchout!!!XXXXX
To Angelina and all the Family With Steve being in surgery for much of Mike's service and only managing to catch the later eulogies while in recovery, we have now sat down and watched the full live stream with a good Bourbon and Napolean Brandy while we watched. Mike would have approved The service was an amazing tribute to an amazing man and the amazing family he created. We will miss everything about Mike; his generosity, his wicked sense of humor (eels in a bed say no more), and sincere honesty. We will never forget how instumental he was (and Angelina) in helping us get our lovely property here in Whakamarama: 'Get your asses down here, it's got Wendy and Steve written all over it' were the instructions. We will miss being able to share our dream with him All our love to Angelina and family.
Mike came into our life in 2000 when he found his English relatives. We spent time with him here and twice travelled to New Zealand to holiday with him and Angelina. Times well spent with a great character. Many laughs and funny instances along the way that we will never forget. Although across the other side of the world he will be sadly missed by us. Love Gill and Derek xx
I have the utmost admiration for what you both have created together. I always enjoy seeing you guys. The Christmases I had at yours were as fun as Christmas gets. They ate an English Christmas for breakfast. The games, the drinks, the laughs, the food, the way you divy up the jobs. It was my first Christmas here and if there is a better example of kiwi hospitality, I haven't seen it. Mike, I'll remember you that day, I'll remember you in Tim's backyard with a bourbon & coke and I'll remember the way you were with our two little ones. The last time was when we popped by in Taurunga to check on you while Ang was away. You weren't well, but shit, the kids would never have known. Watching today, it's clearly the same impression you made on 100s of others. What an impact you had.
We have lost a very dear friend in business and laterly, socially. We enjoyed his company immensly. His sense of humour, his kindness to so many and his complex nature. We have so many wonderful memories to hold on to. To Angelina and family, our thoughts and love are with you during this difficult time. Love H & J
