A farewell for Brian
Funeral service held at Rangiora RSA
E te rangatira, Brian. Moe mai ra, moe mai ra, moe mai ra...Brian and Trunie, I remember when Nan-Maryanne was planning you both coming together. It was a setup and Maryanne's hands were all over it. Lawrence helped but it was mainly Maryanne. You were sussed out to see what a good match you would make with Trunie and it was decided it was a good match. You wanted a wife and Trunie wanted to be married. I remember all the build-up to it. You looked pretty good in your Army uniform Brian and Trunie fell for you hook line and sinker, I remember and am happy to be challenged on that haha! You were good to Trunie and loved her and she, you Brian. You loved the whānau, Lawrence, Maryanne and all. You were always kind and welcoming if I happened to drop in and although I hardly saw you or your whānau as they grew except for the odd visit, you were always whānau Brian and always both of you, my whānau. I loved you as I love Trunie and I pray that you are at peace now. My thoughts and prayers are for you Trunie and whānau. I only read your message today and so I missed the service. May you be encouraged and comforted Trunie by all the people who loved Brian and you. Arohanui, Lorraine and Whānau xx
