Tributes

I saw Marshall in February and spoke with him for the last time a few days before his passing. As always Marshall knew his own mind and his strength of character shone through. May his soul rest in peace. I was honored to have Marshall and Helen in my life. With the passing of Uncle Marshall an era ends for that Gatley generation and for the family. Gone but never forgotten. My prtand love to Stephen, Bruce and Morgan and your loved ones.

Remembering Marshall Gatley. Farewell to the last of the Gatley Siblings, all of whom were treasured by my mum, Margaret. Their stories will live amongst us, Marshall's children, nieces and nephews. For me particularly they are old stories of my grandfather who was given land that required so much clearing, after returning from the war. A life we will never comprehend, and so much work those Gatley siblings did throughout their lives to allow their children to be who they are. Marshall continued that life on the land and worked hard for his boys and for Helen. A true Southland gentleman who had that Gatley sly grin, love of the good food and who will now be reunited with his one true love. Ross and I will treasure the last coffee we had with you. Rest in Peace Uncle Marshall, and love to our cousins, Stephen & Mark and Bruce, and their families.
