Tributes

My mum, Beverly Schenkel (nee Harwood) asked me to write on her behalf to say she has very fond memories of Dot when she was growing up in Okoroire and in Putaruru. Mum has often thought about Dot and wondered about her. She would like to send her condolences to Dots family.

As we bid farewell to our beloved nurse, we pray for the strength to carry forward their legacy of love and empathy. May their example inspire us to be more compassionate, to show kindness to those in need and to remember that love is at the heart of all healing. Lord we trust that our nurse/ sister now rests peacefully in your loving embrace. We offer heartfelt thanks and say goodbye with love and appreciation. Amen Our love goes out to your family and friends Rest in love and peace Dot Thank you for not only your professional guidance and caring in my time at Rotorua Hospital but also on behalf of the Tickelpenny Family for all the care and compassion shown to us in times of need and for some of the good stories and laughs from June aka as the telephonist of the afternoon snoops antics.

It was an absolute pleasure caring for Dot for a few years. She was so proud of her child and grandchildren and their achievements in life, I fondly remember her relaying their achievements. I will miss our evening chats putting the world to rights. The chats we had about life, nursing , family and the moments, the advice you have will be sorely missed. Rest easy now Dot. No more moaning myrtle, you free with you well deserved wings

Our sympathy to Lynne and family. Our experiences of Dot were always with Jim at her side..... such a strong union with family always first in mind. In particular we remember the times they spent with us on holidays abroad - so many laughs and fun times exploring new things. We are thinking of the whole family at this time of such great loss. We regret that we will not be able to attend the service in person but will be joining via the link.

Deepest sympathy to all the family. I have many happy memories of the holidays we spent together when we were kids. I was honoured to have Dorothy as my chief bridesmaid when Doug and I were married. Distance and failing health prevents us from being at her funeral but we will certainly be thinking of all the family on that day.
