A lovely service watched from Burnett Heads in Australia.

Dear Pauline and Family, I was saddened to learn of Howard's passing last Monday. It's many years since I have had contact with Howard (probably the early 70's) but we were very close friends in our earlier years and I spent much time with Howard, Don and also Janet who passed away very sadly I think in the late 60's. But what a magic and talented golfer Howard was. The only part of his game that let him down was his putting. I remember caddying for Howard in the Shand cup at Fairfield when he three putted the 14th which I think was the third three putt in as many holes and the putter went west over the cliff. If Howard had mastered the putter he would have won many professional golf tournaments for sure. Rest In Peace Howard. David
