Tributes

I am writing as a member of the extended family of Calum. He was my father’s first cousin. What a Long life of academic and spiritual rigour Calum achieved. He was blessed with a wonderful family who I’m sure will carry on his legacy of faith and service. Psalm 116:15. Deborah Palmer (née Lilly)

I was saddened to hear about Calum's passing. I am sure I speak for all his former colleagues and students in Classics at the University of Auckland in recalling with appreciation his significant contribution to the higher education of many Aucklanders, his dedication to the ancient Greek language, his contributions to research discussions and to publishing academic and educational works through Polygraphia. His legacy continues to reverberate in the lives and careers of those he taught and those who read the publications he was instrumental in producing. My deep condolences to Raewyn and the family.. Rev Calum was the Faciliator of the Northland Ministry Trainng Team in the 1990s.I was member of that group. The first time I attended It was also his first time and his tutorial that day was Matthew 5 . The Beatitudes. Calum was a very inspirational Tutor for myself and the team. He also became a good friend and mentor. My husband Neville ,Calum and I had some very pleasant times together when he was in Dargaville, and he and Raewyn welcomed me into their home when I was in Auckland. After ordination in 1997 I became Priest Assisstant at Holy Trinity Dargaville where I am still fulfilling my ministry.I will never forget the great teachings he gave to us all. Calum's death has saddened us all and my prayers and love go to Raewyn and their families at this time of loss. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord Let perpetual light shine upon him May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen With all our love and blessings Pat and Neville Boon
