I have the fondest of memories of Uncle Brian. A charismatic, talented and loving man who left a bigger mark than most on this world. I'll miss him very much, as will my boys who remember him as Uncle Frying Pan, though I don't remember why, it's illustrative of the joy he brought to others. RIP Uncle Brian

Lovely service for Brian! My partner was Innes Macdonald - Nairn County manager when they won the Highland League. He was very close to his team including Brian, Raymond McIntosh and Malcom Cowie They were friends. Eventually we came to New Zealand and were offered their hospitality - Susan and Brian were wonderful!! I remember it well. Great times!

RIP Brian. I had the pleasure of meeting and working alongside Brian at Papakura City FC a fair number of years ago. I always treasured our time together and held Brian in high regard. Having moved to Wellington we fell out of touch, as people can do, but I will always hold fond memories of his gentle manner, cheeky smile and commitment to helping our youth players get better. Condolences to Brian's family at this time.

Rest in peace Brian, thinking of you Susan, Joe, Mel and the family at this sad time. So many fond memories, but 2 spring to mind... belly laughing in a tent on a rainy camping trip to Martins Bay at the 'Yorkshire' rendition of Bohemian Rapsody, we loved visiting you both with the kids on our camping trips. Secondly, playing darts, clocking a dart board at a party and having a couple of cheeky games. You will be missed by your loving family and the many, many people you played with, joked with, sang with and loved. Rest in peace. X

Many thanks for memories over the years to name a few from my first time visit to Nairn to moving there from you getting me ball boy job at Nairn County fc then the visits to Brixham going to watch you playing the guitar which you did most weekends and was very popular within the area to you moving overseas various locations and then the inspiration you have left for ours to follow through football and coaching and one thing you did over all this was you made people laugh

I joined the Derby family for a while during the years they lived in Brixham. Joe was my best friend and Sue & Brian my surrogate parents. They were warm and always made me feel welcome. Initially I couldn’t understand much of what Brian said due to his accent but in time came to realise what a funny and mischievous personality he had. I have fond memories of that time, there was much laughter. Brian, you were a good man and I’ve no doubt changed many lives with your football coaching and love of music. It was a pleasure to have known you. Sending lots of love to the rest of the family at this time. I will do a cheers to you today and am with you all in spirit. Much love Jo xxx

Rest in peace dear Brian. You were so kind to James & Alex and spent a lot of your time trying to turn them into great footballers just like you. I will always be appreciative of that. You were a good man and I know you will leave a huge gap in your family's lives. Go well Brian ❤️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
