Lovely farewell for Eric yesterday, hard to imagine we will never hear your quickwitted, 'punny' little comments ever again Eric. You could instantly find the bright side of almost every situation. Have just watched the service for Eric. It is hard to believe that I was at school with Eric in the 1950's at Kaitieke.Does time pass so quickly that we lose touch over the years? Our thoughts always go back to those good old days as children growing up into young adults. We have good memories of the Dobbs family. Gael & I send our deepest sympathies to Evelyn and family. May you find peace and unfurl fond memories and tender recollections, as you come to terms with the sadness that you feel with his passing. Such a brave battler now at rest but forever in your hearts. He will leave such a big gap in your lives but it has been such a blessing that you have been able to help him get through and share in his life till the end. Our heartfelt sympathy to our sister Evelyn and her family for the loss of such a loyal and loving husband and father as Eric. We are so grateful to Jean and Gordon Dobbs for their unwavering help and devotion to Eric and Evelyn in their final months together. Jean invited us to stay with them and spend time with Eric and Evelyn just a few days before Eric passed. It was a special time we will always remember. Thank you. Rest in peace Eric Malcolm and Beverley Dixon and family.

Evelyn we are thinking you and your family at this sad time. We were very sorry to see that Eric had passed away as we thought he was going to be okay. We are pleased that you are settled in New Plymouth and able to catchup with Jocelyn from time to time. We don't go down to New Plymouth very often now but we will try and catchup when we do.
