John was such a gentleman and a great friend of my father, John Nicholson, who treasured his company. They shared stories of family, work, music and their service during the war, and there was always a lot of joking and laughter. Sorely missed.

John you truly were The Officer and the Gentleman and it was such an honor to have you in my life. Even though there was 50+ years between us, you were a true friend and I cherish the times we spent together. Some of my fondest memories are of our lunches Harbourside in Sallee days, or you pulling out your peppermint tea bags from your pocket every morning when you arrived at the office. You presenting me with your favorite rose - Just Joey. Afternoon teas spent chatting with you and Jo at Killarney Street and then Fairview. Thank you for sharing your light with me - positive, kind, authentic. May you rest in peace my dear friend. Until we meet again. Jo XX
