22 January 1941 – 3 June 2024
RYAN, Barry James, Peacefully on Monday 3rd June 2024 at Southland Hospital, with Geraldine at his side, in his 84th year. Loved husband of Geraldine for the past 57 years. Barry was the most warm-hearted Dad to Katrina and Cindy and father-in-law to Tony and Gregg. Fun-loving Grandad to Ryan and Vanessa, Jess and Kyle. Josh and India, Olivia and Aidan. He is a special Dad and companion to Otis, his furbaby. Friend to Russell. Barry is a loved Brother, Brother-in-law, and Uncle. As per Barry’s wishes a gathering has taken place, but Barry got his final lap and chequered flag at Teretonga, in a classic car.
“Full throttle from now on Barry.”

Geraldine and family. Saddened to hear of Barry's passing, we knew he hadn't been well for some time, but he was a tough wee bugger. I was glad to have seen him sometime back at Garston. A great classmate at Tech and we had a friendship in the motor industry that was invaluable. Will always remember his cheeky smile, always great to stop and have a yarn with him. You will all miss him dearly and I know you will have memories to look back on just as I will in many ways. My sincere sympathy to you all, a family connection is broken.
