Godfrey was always known to his student friends as Jack. He was a member of DHAeTS at Hatfield, Hertfordshire from 1948 to 1953. He kept in touch with many all through the years and was a member of the Association. We had been corresponding on his student days just weeks before his untimely departure. He particularly remembered a holiday in France in 1952 with three other students, in the company of a number of young lady trainee teachers. Jack was a good man and well respected. I and those who knew him will miss him.
I loved & respected Godfrey for shared love of the outdoors & tramping and of many fun times together with friends . Ron
