MACKAY, Joanne Teresa Mary, (nee Devon). A former Stewart Islander. Our mother passed peacefully on Wednesday 12th June 2024 at Calvary Hospital in her 87th Year. Beloved Darling Heart of the late Eric “Bones” Mackay. Deeply loved and treasured Mother and mother-in-law of Margaret and Ian (Christchurch), Bruce and Maria (Queenstown), Theresa and Rob (London), Anthony and Raymond (Seattle). Loved special Grandie to Alisha and Cameron (Dubai), Matthew (Brisbane), Rachel and Shaun (Christchurch), Nico and Oscar (London).
The family would like to say a special Thank you to the team at Calvary who have looked after Mum with such love and care. Jojo loved you all, and to Lillian a dearly loved and special friend.

A Rosary will be said on Tuesday 25th June 2024 at 2.30pm in the Calvary Hospital Chapel, Centre St, Invercargill. A Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday 26th June at 10.30 am in the Calvary Hospital Chapel, Centre St, Invercargill, followed by an interment at the Eastern Cemetery but if you would like to spend time with Joanne then please contact Macdonald & Weston Funeral Home (03)2182156. Before I retired I enjoyed being part of your Mum's care team at Calvary She was so cheerful and accepting of the ills that come with old age Love to her wonderful family
I miss Joanne especially when singing with her while doing her cares, she taught me the song "You are my Sunshine". Indeed, Joanne is my Sunshine.
