Dear Ruth and family So sorry to hear of the passing of Colin. Thinking of you at this time. Kind regards Janet King
Condolences to Ruth, Simon Darcy. I have many great memories of you Colin from our family visits and time spent over the years, thankyou for all those. May you R.I.P. Hamish
So shocked and sorry to hear of Colins sudden passing. He was a already a long standing and essential book club member when I joined 14 years ago. I have fond memories of his tales of teaching in remote communities; his battles with education bureaucracy; his world trip including the trans siberian railway courtesy of Cadburys (I seem to recall); his wry view on life; his pride in his family (and his family tree); the bus driving years. I send my heartfelt condolences to Ruth and his family.
Colin was a stalwart and founding member of the BBC, Blokes Book Club for the last twenty years. We meet monthly to discuss books and put the world to rights. He will be sorely missed, the man who loved poetry and enjoyed being “devils advocate”. He was a great contributor and a good friend.
You have left us too early Colin, however, the memories remain. What great times we had; the repartee of Book Group, Labour Party meetings, an integral member of LOGS, motorcycle adventures, breakfast at St Marys, coffee meet ups at Locals and the list goes on. You leave a gap in our social life that will be hard to replace. Ciao, rest well buddy.
So sorry to hear of Colin's passing. My thoughts are with you Ruth and your family at this sad time.
Sincere condolences on the untimely passing of Colin. He was a man of honesty, sincerety and loyalty. Many of us enjoyed his company and wry wit over many years, at Devon Intermediate where he oversaw a progressive IT programme and innovative TV delivery, as a founding member of the BBC and wide ranging adventures around the country .While you will be sorely missed your legacy will always be with us
Our sincere sympathy to Ruth and whānau on the sad passing of Colin, also during your time of grieving. Colin was definitely one of the most interesting people I have worked with.
Sincere condolences to Ruth, Simon, Masaki, Darcy and extended family, Colin will be sorely missed by many - a true gentleman and scholar.
