Sorry for your loss. Sad news. Am sure he will have a great farewell.
Gail, Dayne, Leanne and families, real sorry to hear about the passing of ol' Puffy.... I can see the big grin on his face as he pulled into the driveway there at home on the XL , no helmet, in a flannel shirt and denim shorts, sporting the customary safety jandals, lawnmower fuel tank from up Garth's shed shoved down the front of his shirt.... grinning from ear to ear because the local plod had gone past waggling his finger and shaking his head at Puff . Sorry we can't be up there Monday for Puffy's sendoff. Thinking of you all, God bless, much love from the Wairarapa crew
Sad to hear of "puffs " passing, I have a few nostalgic memories to share of my old boss.....My father Ross Aitken got me a job logging with puff over in Pakiri 31 years ago........oneday at smoko while he was chewing upon a crock pot cooked wild duck in his well worn blue denim stubbies his testicle fell out much to our consternation we recommended that he buy some undies...without missing one chew on his wild duck he just laughed ....another day while he was driving his well-worn but much loved bulldozer at sandpit he ran into a stump at full speed with the blade down and head butted the control panel....he went bright red and puffy and commenced to scream abuse at that stump which had caused him so much trouble....Puff was as tough as teak.....oneday at mahu west I was cutting up a log and watched puff cut a loaded branch which flung up hit him in the jaw lifting him off the ground and flipping him over, I thought he was dead but just like Lazarus puff arose with a shattered jaw and commenced to kick the blasted branch, with blood streaming from his mouth we loaded up the ole land cruiser and headed for the doctors in Warkwoth...on the way Puff managed to wind down the window and yell abuse at a driver who was driving to slow for his liking and giving me stick for not driving like an ambulance driver would, I think his jaw was broken...I worked for puff on and off for a couple of years and always enjoyed his company and sense of humor, my condolences to the family....puff will always be there in memory, God bless you all up there in the north....big hug to you Gail, Dane and Leanne
So sorry for your loss Gail and family from Brenda Rusty and family
