Oh my lovely Aunty Rosie! Remembering your brightest smile and biggest heart whenever we met. I remember so many good times with you, and maybe you were one of the reasons I chose Physiotherapy as a career. Yes, you always had a story, a giggle and the biggest hugs to share. I will miss you and always remember you fondly.
Rosie was a regular attender at Christ the King Anglican Church, Mangawhai and also a regular contributor to the quarterly magazine, Church Life, with jokes and cartoons. Anything to bring a smile and a laugh. I will miss your hugs Rosie.
When we think of Rosie, we recall a friend from Dargaville until now. She was cheerful, generous, hospitable…..In fact, the Bible lists the “fruit of the Spirit” and these were obvious in Rosie- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility & self-control. Our daughter Monique was at school with Trish and wrote “ I remember Rosie having one of the happiest faces I have ever seen. I also remember watching the Olympic Games at the Bull’s house & her telling us to stand for the National Anthem when Mark Todd & Charisma won.” Rosie, thank you for your effervescent sense of humour. We will all miss you but are thankful for the way you have touched our lives.
I was at the mayo clinic physical therapy school with Rosie. She could light up a room with her smile and her love of life. I cherish the memories that we Made. Twilight.
I always think of Rosie greeting me the first time we met with a smile and a hug and the comment that I would get used to the Bull, Barfoot clan ‘in time’. She was a kind ,down to earth lady who will be missed.
My abiding memory of Rosie will always be that of delighted laughter. She had a such deep sense of joyfulness about her that was absolutely infectious. I’m sure she’s up there right now tickling some prickly angel’s fancy. She will be missed.
It is hard to express how much we will miss Rosie. She was a great big sister and the only person who called Max, Maxie. We camped and hiked with her in Central Oregon and on the Oregon Beaches. She baby sat our sons. She and some of her Portland friends, helped us build our home outside of Salem. She had so many adventures from Minnesota, to Oregon, to Alaska, and Europe. But her biggest adventure was when she took a working leave from her job in Portland to work as a PT in New Zealand. There she met Pat Bull another PT, and was invited to Pat's home. There she met Pat's brother, Trewby and another adventure began. She loved New Zealand, the welcoming Bull Family, being married to Trewby, and a Mom to Trish and Rae as they arrived. She had such a good sense of humor, so much imagination and was such a good storyteller. She was just fun to be around.!!! We are so grateful to Trish and Rae for all the loving support they gave both Rosie and Trewby in getting the care that they needed. And we thank Derek, Scott and all the grandchildren who took care of things at home while their Moms were gone. Love to all of you. The Max Garrett Family
