Think of me as one at rest,
for me you should not weep
I have no pain no troubled thoughts
for I am just asleep
The living thinking me that was,
is now forever still
And life goes on without me now,
as time forever will.

If your heart is heavy now
because I’ve gone away
Dwell not long upon it friend
For none of us can stay
Those of you who liked me,
I sincerely thank you all
And those of you who loved me,
I thank you most of all.

And in my fleeting lifespan,
as time went rushing by
I found some time to hesitate,
to laugh, to love, to cry
Matters it now if time began
If time will ever cease?
I was here, I used it all,
and now I am at peace

Tributes

We went though school alongside each other. Not close, but because of the size of our school, friendly and respectful. Pam was much loved. She found many things easy, and those legs- boy could she run! I was fortunate to catch up in January 2014 when we spent an evening laughing over dinner- reminiscing and filling each other in on our respective medical work. Please know that Pam was someone very special. We are so sorry you have lost her and we mourn with you.

Rest in Peace dear Pam. We will all remember you as witty, clever , very sporty and a wicked sense of humour. We have great memories of time shared over those 5 secondary school years at Queen Margaret’ college. Much love and thoughts to your family. Xxoo

Pam and I started at our third form at Queen Margaret College in Wellington in 1975. Five wonderful years where Pam excelled at all she put her hand to, Sports, academic, the stage - there was nothing she couldn't do well. In those first years Pam saved her mum's life which made her a hero, but true to Pam she was humble about the importance of her actions. Pam was a gentle, quiet, high achiever so it was wonderful to have her as a friend. We enjoyed all the wonderful things of being a teenager. Good friends, school dances sporting success. On finishing school we drifted apart - no social media to keep connected. I was lucky to meet up again with Pam 12 or so years ago. Meeting her family and learning about her married life. Successful in her work and still the same gentle kind soul. Visiting when she was admitted to the care home we were lucky to have a few laughs and share good memories. God Speed Pam - gone too soon.
