Bereavement pānui on behalf both the Payne and Tutahi whānau regarding the loss of both their taonga. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved father, granddad, great granddad, great great granddad, and great great great granddaddy Joseph Hohepa Payne. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the messages we have received over the past few days. We hear and feel all the aroha.

The whanau would also like to advise that Deleena-Mei Maia Attahua Tutahi will also be laid to rest alongside Granddad Joe at the Akatarawa Cemetery following the funeral service.

The whanau have advised us that the funeral service will be held at Orongomai Marae, Upper Hutt on Monday 1st July 2024 commencing at 9am followed by a graveside service at the Akatarawa Cemetery, Upper Hutt. The whānau will then return to Orongomai Marae for kai hākari at 2pm.
