Tributes

Dear Bev and whanau, Just recently heard about Leith, such a shock to know that I had missed his farewell. He was a wonderful colleague and friend over many years. I still have the wooden stirrer he made for the adults at the Okataina camp. When I told him how much I treasured mine but wanted to keep it with the Okataina name and year on it so didn't like to use it too much for cooking, he simply made me another plain way to use. It was such a joy to catch up with you both on the few occasions that I ever got to the Thursday night markets. Sending you my deepest condolences at this grievous time. Arohanui ki a whanaunui. Dearest Leith, It was great chatting with you over the phone last month. Sadly we never had the chance to meet in person but I’m glad you were surrounded by all your family and loved ones during your final days. You will be missed by us all. Rest in Peace, Emily

Leith was so special to us. He was like a father to me and all of Chris's friends throughout our time at school and beyond. Such a kind hearted man with a wealth of knowledge to share about life, carving, and gardening. He will always have a special place in our hearts. My time with him and the family will be cherished forever. Thanks for putting up with our parties, silly games, and pranks. It was always Brad's fault by the way. We will miss you always Leith. Love Steve, Suzie and the rest of the Rampling family
