Tributes

I got to know Neville in 1999 while staying near the YWAM base. Neville was a gentle giant of a man, a man of integrity, and a man who loved his family. Above all, he was a man after God's heart. The last time we met, he was in Middlemore Hospital recovering from an operation. I wished I had visited him a bit more but geographical limitations prevented our interaction. I pray that the family continues to remember the legacy of Neville and keeps their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, something which I am sure he held dear to. God bless and until we meet again. Peter

A man of great honour ❤️ raised a beautiful family and had a huge impact on those around him. His great legacy will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren. You've fought a good fight & now you will continue to be a guardian angel for your family. Lots of love to the Wilson family during this tough time. Lots of love, Johansson Family

Death is not easy to comprehend and is not a thought that dominates our regular conversations or inclinations to ponder. Nevertheless, it is inevitable and part of life's finitude. Similar to an author writing a book, who has an introduction at the beginning and an epilogue at the end. Insightful explanations and spiritual reasoning may seem inadequate in the face of the loss, but we are reassured that the legacy of the deceased continues and lives on through loved ones who are entrusted to keep their memory alive in their daily lives. We become a living memorial on behalf of and in honour of the departed. A diamond, sought after in the depths of the earth, is formed by intense heat, then cut, cleaned, and shaped. Its true value, in the eyes of the beholder, is invaluable, and its essence can never dissipate or be replaced. We are thankful in our own way for our memory of Neville Jerome Wilson and blessed knowing that a diamond was among us.
