I can only say how very privileged we were to have met Tony and Sylvia - without a doubt they were the happiest couple and an example for what life is all about. One could use so many words to describe them - happy, kind, forthright, tolerant, understanding, accepting whilst always living life to the full.
We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new, We thought about you yesterday And days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. Now, all we have is memories and your picture in a frame. Don’t think you’ll be forgotten, though on Earth you are no more. But in our memories you are always with us, as you always were before.
Dearest Sylvia Such wonderful memories of your life in photos you were alway so very kind to me I will always hold a place for you in my heart ❤️ rest now with your beloved Tony god bless Dany and Steve xxxx
With love xx
I hope you’ve found your Shangrilosis( your poetic licence) May the sea be a tranquil blue, the rolling hills of the countryside a beautiful green, surrounded by rainbow birds in flight. I hope the wine doth flow , the scent of freesia’s fills the air and grandad is there growing garlic for garlands. I will always treasure the memories of our precious time spent together. In 2016/2017. Love Kiri Kid xx
Time to say Goodbye Ma Thanks for letting me play that Peter Rabbit record on repeat more times than I can remember. Thanks for making me that dress when I was 11 years old. Yes me in a dress by choice. It was petrol blue needlecord with a short zip at the front. How talented you were. How did you make the time for all the things you did for us . Lovely roasts dinners, Friday night treats called ‘Fridays’. Your favourites being Sherbert Dabs, Crunchies and Terry chocolate orange. I shall eat one in your memory while reading your wonderful anniversary doggerel. Love Your Kath-ma-Kid xx
Here is a transcript of grandson Matt's tribute: "Au revoir Grandma" She had a soft spot for me and the feeling was mutual She could turn her hand to a doggerel or two I recall a cracker being read out at a milestone anniversary Which one now I can't quite recall An avid writer She had a way with words A prolific writer of letters Keeping up connections with friends and family I wrote her one or two from the UK myself A letter or two near the end she was not to send The confusion resulting from cognitive decline So sad for us all to see That sharp wit never left her though A wit sharp as a knife With humour, laughter, love and grit she approached her life You no longer have to be without your Tone, Grandma Together you two have travelled far oceans beneath the bow and the wings of a plane A road stretching back far into the past A life lived well and true With love, family, adventures the glue holding steadfast Go well Grandma
To mum: Though dad was the funniest in our family you were easily the best Scrabble player and the best creator of delicious food eg Belgian chocolate biscuit cake, chicken liver pate and boiled silverside. I remember mum also had an obsession with roasting peanuts for herself. I have fond memories of a happy home life with you as a boy. On the whole you were a person who had a childlike sense of fun and that's how I remember you Wherever you are now mum we send you all our love. Andy and Kieko Tokyo Japan
