ROUSE, Heather Jean (née Garry). Born on September 23, 1939, in Whangarei, passed away on July 5, 2024, at the age of 84 in her home surrounded by family. Heather is survived by her loving children and partners, Craig Rouse & Anthony Hart, Grant & Jo Rouse, Shayn & Jan Rouse, and Megan & Wayne Lajeunesse. She was a cherished grandmother to Tom & Emma Rouse, Cameron & Courtney Rouse, Jake, Alex, Amy, and Luke Rouse, Javaughn & Ayden Finlayson, and Jonai Lajeunesse. She was also a proud great- grandmother to Hudson Rouse and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another. A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the Mid Northern Rugby Club on Domain Rd, Hukerenui, on Wednesday, July 10th at 1 PM, followed by interment at Hukerenui Cemetery. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright, colorful clothes in celebration of Heather's vibrant life. Following the services, light refreshments will be available, at the rugby club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice, honoring Heather's compassionate spirit.

Lovely family of Heather I was unable to come up to Heathers farewell but wanted to pass on my condolences to you all and my tribute to a life well lived! I was probably only 17 when your mum hired me in the uni holidays to help her with the Christmas mail at the post office. As one of my mums friends (Lilian)I knew Heather but we got to know each other that summer working together. I am not telling you anything but she was such a hoot to work for. We laughed from the beginning of the day till closing. She encouraged me to be an individual as she was To stand up for myself and gave me a confidence to March into the next phase of my life! What a mentor she was! I feel so lucky for that summer Obviously we bumped into each other over the next 45 years sadly usually at funerals but she was always ready for a chat with her beautiful big welcoming smile and twinkly eyes and great big hug What a woman!
