Funeral service held at Hamilton Gardens Central Court
We have just finished watching a most beautiful service for Sue. Thank-you for the opportunity to witness this with you all! Jan and Tony
Dear Jim Sending thoughts and love to you and the family on Sues passing. I watched the service on line from overseas, so thank you so much for that - it was a beautiful service and a remarkable reflection of all that Sue did in her time. As I have said to you both, Sue was a true asset to the team in Disability - I saw Karen in one of the slides and it made me smile of the mischief they both got up to. She was a listener and a healer to her team mates and a wonderful support to me in my role. I loved her laugh and her zest for life and her compassion for others. It has been a privilege to know and work with her, and an honour to know you both. Nga Mini Alison
Dear Jim I was sorry to hear the sad news about Sue. Sue was a special person who brought much joy and light into our lives. I always enjoyed our times together, in our art group, and our book group (further enhanced by delicious cake) and, latterly, with Belinda when we stayed with you in Hamilton and connected with your new life and interests. Jim, I send my love to you and all your family at this sad time, Arohanui, Shirley
I was so sorry to hear Sue has passed away. I first met Sue when she joined our Art group in Wellington - we were a close group who enjoyed developing a knowledge and passion for NZ art and she became a valued member. It was no surprise to find Sue was a member of the Hamilton Decorative and Fine Arts Society Committee which I discovered when I first went to the national meeting as a new Wellington Committee member. A few years ago Shirley and I stayed with Jim and Sue and Sue gave us a guided tour of the wonderful Hamilton gardens. So fitting that you are celebrating her life in that beautiful setting which she loved so much. My thoughts are with you Jim, and your family. Belinda
It the saddest of news to hear that Sue had passed away . But she is now at peace and at rest . We will miss , but will always remember, Sue's cheerful good humour , her unfailing positivity and her bravery in the face of a medical condition that was not able to be beaten . Out thoughts at this saddest of times are certainly with Jim, Sarah and Jane and their families .People say that grief is the price of love and of course that is so true . We will join in the celebration of Sue's life on Friday and share memories and thoughts of Sue.
Dear Jim, Sarah and Jane Alex and I are thinking of you all at this very sad time. I will always remember Sue with such fondness. My working days with Sue at the MoH were the best ‘working days’ of my life. I am sorry we cannot be present at the ‘celebration of her life’ as we are committed to looking after grandchildren this week. However we will be with you all in spirit as we follow the service online. Sending you all our love. Clare and Alex Kirk
