Tributes

Geoff, we arrived at Pirbright, Guards Depot on 13 September in 1976, nearly 48 years ago. We served together at HCMR and forged a friendship and an affinity that only Cavalrymen, and Veterans can, having served in our two great regiments. You achieved much in your career and were an inspiration to many including me. We all have our individual memories of you, but for me it was your professionalism, wit, humour, helpfulness, consideration and just always be there for others. RiP my old friend, and save a seat at the NAFFI bar for me.

Dear Geoff, I can’t believe you’ve gone. I will mill miss your infectious grin and your larger than life personality. Both being Everton fans we grew up with more than our fair share of disappointments but we stayed loyal and you kept smiling to the end. The world will be a much sadder place without you. God bless you cousin and say hi to aunty Geraldine in Heaven for me. With much love from Alan, Sonia Georgie and Dom x
